Sorry.I regret that I have been unable to post since I returned from break in Herne Bay Convent. I am suffering from some bug or other which is upsetting my stomach and also causing much tiredness. I also have several things to catch up on. I will try and post Friday and in the meantime I will postpone the change over from the blog to a weekly E mail.
Can you help.? I have had repeated messages from someone purporting to be my service provider BT internet, but using a variety of addresses and this morning my link to the Google etc told me that a btinternt provided wanted to alter my hard drive. This was repeated 3 times. I think it is a scam but have no way of checking. I get nowhere speaking to mystic Indian voice you get connected to.

I hope you delete those emails, almost certainly they are scam
You should certainly not contact these people Father, or carry out any changes to your computer or accounts until you contact BT Broadband directly. Don't use any numbers that these people give you, but use the contact numbers from BT website, or in the documentation that they sent you when you opened the account. Once you're sure you're talking to BT then they should be able to confirm what's what.
Father, it certainly sounds like a scam. I follow a strict policy on calls and Emails.
If the caller is someone I don’t recognize I immediately terminate the call. I delete pre-recorded voice mail messages from unknown sources. I never return those calls.
If I don’t recognize the sender of an Email I delete it without opening it (this takes discipline as we are curious by nature!). Scammers can make Emails look ‘official’. If in doubt about an Email from your Internet Service Provider, bank, insurance company, etc., forward the email to them for confirmation. DO NOT REPLY TO THEM!
By replying to an Email from a scammer or clicking on a link they provide you can give them access to your computer and open a Pandora’s box of problems – viruses, access to your files, information etc., not to mention illegal use of your computer for nefarious purposes and even theft of your identity.
When in doubt – DELETE!
